Japan's Classic Golden Route

Day 1 - UK - Tokyo

Today begin the journey by taking a scheduled flight to Tokyo.

Day 2 - Narita Airport - Tokyo (B)

On arrival at Narita Airport, you will be welcomed by our local representative who will provide you first-hand information and show you to the limousine bus for a shared transfer to your hotel.

Spend the rest of the day relaxing after a long flight. Later, you can start exploring the city by heading to the island of Odaiba in Tokyo Bay, where you can get excellent views of the city skyline.

Day 3 - Tokyo  (B)

You can start exploring Tokyo at your own pace. A visit in the early morning Tsukiji Fish Market is an opportunity to see where your sushi starts out. Later in next 2 days, it is recommended to visit the observatory of the Tokyo Skytree, Imperial Palace, pretty Hamarikyu Gardens, the Asakusa Kannon Temple and the Meiji Jingu Shrine in Harajuku. Alternatively, you can choose to join our full day Tokyo guided tour as an option.

Day 4 - Tokyo (B)

Today continue exploring Tokyo at leisure.

Day 5 - Tokyo - Mt Fuji - Hakine  (B, L)

After checking out, you will join a full day tour to Mt. Fuji . The bus will head up to Mt Fuji 5th Station or the highest elevation point possible if the roads are not in good condition. Next, you’ll cruise in Lake Ashi, you can admire the superb view of Mt. Fuji from aboard a ship.

After the cruise, you’ll take ropeway ride to the peak of Mt. Komagatake. Next, take a cableway ride up to the spiritual Hakone Shrine Mototsumiya (original shrine) that nestles at the top of the mountain. Later you will be transferred to Hakone-Yomoto Station

Overnight in traditional Japanese ryokan inn in Hakone and enjoy Japanese famous hot springs at the end of the day.

Day 6 - Hakone - Kyoto (B)

After breakfast, you will check out and take a shuttle from the ryokan to Hakone Yumoto Station. It takes 15 minutes from Hakone Yumoto station to Odawara station by local train on your own. You will experience world-famous bullet train to Kyoto from Odawara station (123 minutes). On arrival, you will make your way to your hotel. You can start exploring Kyoto on your own or alternatively you can join an afternoon guided tour of Kyoto as an option. The guided tour will include Heian Jingu Shrine, Sanjusanken-do temple and Kiyomizudera temple . Overnight in Kyoto.

Day 7 - Kyoto  (B)

After breakfast continues to explore Kyoto at your own pace. The city has seventeen historic sites that has been proclaimed as World Heritage Sites with more than 600 temples We suggest visiting Nijo castle, Kinkaju Temple (also knowns as Golden Pavillion) and Kiyomizu temple for magnificent view of Kyoto city.

In evening, it is recommended to visit Gion district – an area well known for Geisha.

Day 8 - Kyoto - Nara (B)

After breakfast, continue to discover the beauty of Kyoto. You may wish to visit Geikkeikan Okura Museum to experience the journey of sake-brewing history. In the afternoon, you will join our guided tour to Nara, home to Japan’s largest Buddha found at the Todaiji temple. After visiting the temple, you’ll be taken to the Kasuga-Taisha Shrine, which dates back to 768AD and is again part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Later, you’ll visit Nara Nagomikan store for souvenirs shopping and back to Kyoto.

Day 9 - Kyoto - Hiroshima (B)

After checking out, transfer to Kyoto Station on your own and travel by bullet train transiting in Shin Kobe Station to Hiroshima using the JR Pass ( approx 2 hrs ) On arrival, you will find your way to the hotel and can begin exploring Hiroshima city. We suggest visiting Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome, Peace Memorial Museum Park and Miyajima Island during your stay in Hiroshima. Overnight in Hiroshima.

Day 10 - Hiroshima - Osaka  (B)

After breakfast and checking out, you will take a bullet train to Osaka using JR Pass. On arrival, you will find your way to the hotel and can start discovering the vibrant city of Osaka. It is recommended to visit Himeji Castle. The castle is regarded as the finest surviving example of prototypical Japanese castle architecture. Later in the evening, we suggest you visit Dontobori area in the evening, where you can taste various delicious street foods.

Day 11 - Osaka - Kansai International Airport (B)

Today you will take an express train from Osaka Station/Tennoji Station to Kansai airport (JR Kansai Airport Rapid Service) for your return flight.

Day 1 - UK - Tokyo
