Day 1 - ARRIVE COCHIN

Arrive Kochi (Cochin) by flight

Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to hotel

Upon arrival check-in at hotel

Afternoon: Sightseeing tour of Kochi. Visit the Dutch Palace, the Jewish Synagogue - (which remains closed on Fridays & Saturdays) St. Francis Church and the Santa Cruz Basilica. While driving along the coastline, at the Harbour's mouth, one can also view the unique and still-in-use "Chinese Fishing Nets" which were introduced by the Chinese traders in the 14th Century. The tour ends in the Fort Kochi area where you can walk through the historical Dutch and Portuguese buildings. Some parts of this nearly 500-year-old Fort are still amazingly well preserved.

Evening witness Kathakali dance performance. Enjoy India's most spectacular Dance Drama based on stories from Ramayana and Mahabharata. The dancers are elaborately made up with paint and masks, accompanied with drummers and musicians. Overnight stay at hotel

Day 2 - COCHIN - KUMARAKOM

Morning: Drive to Kumarakom (2:30 hrs. dr ive), gateway to the backwaters.

Check in at back water resort

Kumarakom slumbers on the banks of the famous Vembanad Lake, which is a part of Kuttanad ('granary' of Kerala). The Vembanad Lake with its majestic canals, streams and distributaries along its banks weave an intricate and enchantingly beautiful web. The gorgeous green of the fringed palms ripple in the blue waters and blend into wavelets

Possibility to consult with the Ayurvedic Doctor and discover your ‘prakuti’ or body type and learn about the lifestyle and cuisine best suited for you. After all, you are in the homeland of Ayurveda.

Day 3 - KUMARAKOM

Today morning take a guided village tour to experience the local life. Go beyond the backwaters & houseboats right in the heart of village to experience the life of locals. See their modest homes, net fishing. You can see coir making units or broom making or Karimeen (pearl spot) processing, toddy tapping.

Day 4 - KUMARAKOM - ALLEPPEY (HOUSEBOAT)

Morning: after breakfast check out from the resort and board the Houseboat” where you will stay for one night.

1300 hrs: The Houseboat sets sail and heads to the north of Vembanad Lake, Lunch is served on board.

Watch a whole new world unfold during your cruise as you sail along the tranquil waters of Asia’s largest freshwater lake, and then through a shimmering exotic maze of interlinked canals and rivers and lakes bordered by vibrant and lush green foliage, palms and paddy fields.

The houseboat cruise takes you through the intricate maze of backwaters, mesmerizing and surprising you at every turn with its serene beauty & simple charm. Day 5 - ALLEPPEY (HOUSEBOAT) - PERIYAR

Today morning after breakfast drive to Periyar (04 – 05 Hrs. drive).

The name Thekkady, for those who have already visited this place, brings to mind images of elephants, unending chains of hills and spice-scented plantations. Moreover, the flora and fauna of the Periyar wildlife sanctuary is absolutely thrilling. The wildlife sanctuary here is the natural habitat of a wide variety of animal species.

Day 6 - PERIYAR SIGHTSEEING TOUR

Morning: After breakfast proceed for the common boat ride at Periyar.

Enjoy the boat ride in the lake to view wildlife. This of the best ways to explore the Periyar Tiger Reserve by taking a boat ride through the Periyar Lake. It offers opportunity to view natural beauty of the forest with its tall trees and resident wildlife.

Afternoon: proceed for the spice plantation tour.

Visit to a Spice Plantation to watch different varieties of spices such as cardamom, cinnamon, peeper, clove, vanilla, ginger, tea and coffee growing in their natural environment. Periyar is on 1000 meters above the sea level and is rich in spice growing. 95% pepper in India is produced from here. Vasco de Gama was the first European to land at the Malabar Coast in 1498 A.D. in search of spices. Pepper in those days was exported against the equal weight of gold, so in the beginning of 15th century pepper was called black gold. Periyar has a lot to offer you in sightseeing.

Morning: After breakfast leave Periyarby surface for Munnar. (03 – 04 hours drive)

Day 8 - MUNNAR SIGHTSEEING

Morning: After breakfast proceed for the sightseeing tour of Munnar.

Munnar is perhaps the choicest of places to preserve and showcase some of the exquisite and interesting aspects on the genesis and growth of tea plantations in Kerala's high ranges. With special emphasis to Munnar, and to the delight of tea lovers and tourists, Tea Museum houses curious, photographs and machineries, each depicting a turning point that contributed to a flourishing tea industry, The museum set up at the Nallathanni Estate of Tata Tea in Munnar is a fitting tribute to the toils and rigours of its pioneers, who showed utmost determination and were resolute in their efforts to transform Munnar into a major plantation centre of Kerala. (Tea Museum Monday closed)

Today evening enjoy cooking demo followed by dinner.

Day 9 - MUNNAR - MARARIKULAM

Morning: After breakfast transfer by surface to Mararikulam. (05 – 06 Hrs drive).
