Golden Route Japan - Self guided tour
Day 1 - TOKYO
Arrival Tokyo (NRT/HND) – You will meet an airport assistant who hand over your Pasmo IC card & Train tickets. The assistant will also point you to the Bus stop for Transfer to the Tokyo centre by shared airport Shuttle bus - this will take approximately 1hr 30Mins to alight near the Hotel.
Overnight stay in Tokyo.
Day 2 - TOKYO
After breakfast, you will need to make your own way to the meeting point for a half-day Tokyo city tour by coach.
Start your tour at Tokyo tower, Standing 333 meters high in the center of Tokyo as a symbol. Then head to Meiji Shrine, one of Japan’s most popular shrines. You will also visit Tokyo’s former site of Edo Castle, a residence of Japan’s Imperial Family, Imperial Palace plaza. After traditional cultural experiences, you will drive through Ginza Shopping District on the way. Tour disbands at the meeting point.
Free afternoon at leisure.
Day 3 - TOKYO – MOUNT FUJI
After breakfast, you will need to make your way to the meeting point to join the Full day Hakone & Mt Fuji tour by coach.
Explore to see the Japanese symbol and a trademark, the famous Mt. Fuji at 5th station if the weather condition is permitted. You will also visit some locations using Lake Ashi Leisure Boat, Hakone Ropeway, to have a spectacular panoramic view to see Mount Fuji, passing by Owakudani Boiling Valley, an area around the crater with an active volcanic zone that has sulphurous fumes.
Return back to Tokyo by coach and tour ends at the meeting point.
Day 4 - TOKYO – OSAKA (2.5hrs)
After breakfast & room checkout, make your way to Tokyo Station for the Bullet train to Osaka. On arrival to Shin-Osaka station, you will need to make your own way to your hotel (pay by Pasmo). You have the rest of the day at leisure to explore Osaka city.
It is highly recommended to visit a famous food street called Dotombori where you can tray local specialities of Osaka such as Takoyaki and Okonomiyaki to be Kuidaore (ruin yourself in foods) Or when in season for the spectacular Cherry Blossoms, you can travel to the viewing spots @ Osaka Castle Park
Day 5 - OSAKA
Breakfast at the hotel. Today will be at Leisure for you to explore this exciting city!
Day 6 - OSAKA – KYOTO (30mins)
After breakfast & room checkout, you will make your own way to Osaka Station for your Express train to Kyoto, the journey will take approximately 40mins. on arrival to Kyoto station you can either take a taxi to your hotel ( 5-10mins) or use your Pasmo IC card on the subway, the nearest station will be Gojo Subway Station. The remainder of the day will be Free at Leisure to explore this beautiful city.
Day 7 - KYOTO
After an early breakfast, make you own way to Kyoto station for the start of your Half Day Kyoto tour
You will visit, Kinkaku-ji Temple (the Golden Pavilion), a gorgeous temple that is covered in gold leaf. Nijo Castle, known as the Kyoto residence of the famous leader Tokugawa Ieyasu (the first shogun of the Edo Period), which attracts hundreds of visitors everyday as well as the beautiful Kyoto Imperial Palace
Day 8 - KYOTO – HIROSHIMA (2hrs)
Today you will need to have an early start for a full day sightseeing tour in Hiroshima.
Meet your guide at Kyoto station for a comfortable Shinkansen train journey to Hiroshima for a full-day Sightseeing tour of Hiroshima & Miyajima by bullet train & Ferry. You will visit the World Heritage Sites of Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima - a mystical shrine built on the water. The island was worshipped as a god in ancient times, and it was announced as a World Heritage Site in 1996. Then moving to the Peace and Memorial Museum & Park, together with the Atomic Bomb Dome, which are also essential to see in Hiroshima learning about the history of World War II. After sightseeing, take a bullet train back to Kyoto – Evening at leisure
Day 9 - KYOTO – OSAKA AIRPORT
After breakfast and room checkout, depending on your departure flight time - you can store your luggage at the hotel front desk and make the most of your time in Kyoto before making your way to the Airport Shuttle bus stop. You will use the Pasmo card to purchase the bus ticket for your transfer to the Airport.

- Kyoto - the capital of the Japanese Empire for 11 centuries. Visit Mount Hiei and its main temple in the Buddhist school of Tendaishū or exploring Pontocho, an emblematic neighbourhood known for its traditional architecture and geishas. Perhaps explore the iconic Bamboo Forest, the perfect backdrop for budding photographers, or walk through the tranquil Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine.
