When it comes to hotel design, we thought we’d seen it all. But that was before we heard about the new hotel concept by Hayri Atak Architectural Design Studio (Haads). A famous name in pioneering hotel design, the team have recently released images of their latest concept. Currently in the planning stages, the Eko-Yuzen hotel is set to be built off the coast of Doha, Qatar. Set over 35,000 square meters, this eco-hotel is like none we have ever seen before. Qatar is an up-and-coming travel destination, thanks to it hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup and designs like this will only help put in putting its stamp on the map!
The hotel itself will be constructed in a circular design stretching out into the ocean to give it a floating look. But this isn’t the coolest feature. Designers wish for visitors to the luxury hotel to make the most of the surrounding views – therefore the hotel will rotate! That’s right this is going to be a fully rotating accommodation, completing a full rotation in 24 hours! Accessible by land, sea and air (thanks to its 2 docks and helipad).
The 152 roomed accommodation aims to minimise its impact on the environment. Its ‘vortex’ inspired roof is designed to collect and filter rainwater to be used within the complex. The energy used for the general running of the hotel and its rotation will also be generated with the environment in mind. Even the waste created by hotel guests will be recycled.
Facilities at the Eko-Yuzen hotel will include indoor and outdoor pools – the main one of which will be an infinity pool and will sit on the outer diameter of the site so you can make the most of the ever-changing views. Other facilities will include a spa, mini-golf course, restaurants and many more.
Although no date has been secured for the grand opening, construction is planned to be completed sometime in 2025. Let us know in the comments if you would stay at a revolving hotel.
