Day 1 - SIEM REAP ARRIVAL

Day 2 - SIEM REAP – ANGKOR WAT TEMPLE WITH SUNSET – SIEM REAP (B, L) 

At & At 8.30 am, start your day with a visit to Angkor Thom, meaning “Great City” in Khmer, was the last capital city of the Angkorian Empire. Your exploration begins at the South Gate, one of the four gates into the city, which lead to the Bayon. The former state temple best recognized by the hundreds of serenely smiling faces, each over 4 meters tall, sculpted onto some 50 remaining towers. You will walk through narrow maze-like hallways and corridors, stairs and towers to discover the bas-relief decorations that adorn the wall of the monument.

Moving north of Bayon, you will discover the Baphuon, a magnificent 11th Hindu temple converted to the worship of Buddha in the 15th century before entering the Royal Palace grounds. While the Palace itself can no longer be found, the remaining sites are marvels to behold. The Terrace of the Elephants is an impressive two and a half meter tall, 300 meter long terrace wall with carved elephant heads protruding out at several sections, their trunks forming pillars. Phimeanakas - impressive rite and sandstone pyramid. Terrace of the Leper King is at the north end of the Terrace of the Elephants, a double terrace wall with deeply carved nag as, demons and other mythological beings. Be sure to visit the mythical ruins of the Ta Prohmtemple where human architectural genius has been overpowered, then complemented by nature over the centuries, as massive trees stand and cast shadows over equally stupendous towers while determinedly grasping them with their roots.

Just south of Angkor Thom lies the highlight of the UNESCO Heritage Site is Angkor Wat, the pride of Cambodia. The temple complex was built in the 12th century under King Suryavarman II and epitomizes the accomplishment and splendourof Khmer architecture, culture and religion. The five towers that form the temple’s mountain are flanked by galleries with ornate carvings in rose and grey sandstone. As you enter the causeway to cross the moat surrounding the temple, you can begin the visual feast. Try not to miss lovely sunset over Angkor Wat, best viewed from the steps of Pre Rup Temple!

Night in Siem Reap.  

Day 3 - SIEM REAP – TONLE SAP & KBAL SPEAN– SIEM REAP (B, L) 

Breakfast, Lunch included.

In the morning,explore Kbal Spean, a spectacularly carved riverbed set deep in the jungle to the northeast of Angkor. More commonly referred to in English as the ‘River of a Thousand Lingams’, the name actually means ‘bridgehead’, a reference to the natural rock bridge here. Lingams (phallic symbols) have been elaborately carved into the riverbed, and images of Hindu deities are dotted about the area.
Lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, continue to visit the floating villageChong Khneas which sits on Tonle Sap. Embark on a boat to sample daily life in the region’s largest freshwater lake that once supplied food for the Angkorean Empire.

Return to Siem Reap.

Day 4 - SIEM REAP – FREE DAY (B) (no tour guide)

Day 5 - SIEM REAP – BATTAMBANG (B, L) 

Breakfast, Lunch Included.

Embark on a journey toto Battambang (around 3 to 4 hours)

Lunch at a local restaurant.

Located in northwestern Cambodia, Battambang province contains the second most populous city in the country after Phnom Penh. The provincial capital, also Battambang, has always been a popular destination for its nearby ancient temples, French colonial architecture, and Buddhist shrines. Make your way to Banon Mountain where the Wat Banon’s five towers from the Angkor era rise from the lush hill sides. On the way back to Battambang, we make a stop at a Grape Garden for a taste of the local wine.

Day 6 - BATTAMBANG – BAMBOO RAILWAY (B) 

Breakfast Included.

Start your day with a ride on the famous bamboo train. These 2.5x4m motor-driven bamboo platforms were initially designed by the locals to make use of the remaining railroad tracks from the French colonial era. Once that's under your belt, visit Sampeou Mountain and the "mountaintop pagodas" which overlook Battambang. Return to Battambang.

Day 7 - BATTAMBANG - PHNOM PENH (B) 

Breakfast Included.

Transfer from Battambang to Phnom Penh (5 to 6 hour by car). At 9 am, transfer from Battambang to Phnom Penh (5 to 6 hours by car). On route,visit a village of marble sculpture and learn the traditional method to make the Cambodia noodle. Then head to KompongChhnang and stop at another village famous for its fine clay pottery. Enjoy the classic Khmer landscapes of sugar palms dotted rice paddies, with a range of low hills behind the village.

Continue to Phnom Penh, hotel check in upon arrival and free time.

Day 8 - PHNOM PENH CITY TOUR – KILLING FIELD – PHNOM PENH (B, L) 

Breakfast, Lunch included.

Phnom Penh literally means “Penh’s Hill.” Legend has it that a wealthy widow named Yeay Penh was walking by the Tonle River one day when she found a floating Koki Tree log with four bronze Buddha statues and a stone statue of the Hindu god Vishnu inside. On a nearby hill, she built a temple and a shrine to house the statues and established the Wat Phnom (Hill Temple) as a central place for religious worship and thus gave the city its popular name.

Visit Wat Phnom temple and stand on the grounds that destined Phnom Penh for greatness. Continue your excursion into the nearby Royal Palace. Built in 1866, the Royal Palace is a beautiful complex which includes the Throne Hall, the Silver Pagoda, and numerous halls and residences for the Royal family. The Silver Pagoda is the royal place of worship and is adorned with Buddha statues, most eminently the Crystal Buddha.

After lunch embark on a journey to visitKilling Fieldof ChoeungEk –a devastating insight into a time where the country was torn apart by war, political instability and mass genocide. Brace yourself for what lay behind the gates of the once tranquil orchard: a mass grave for almost 20,000 men, women and children – all victims of the Khmer Rouge regime’s atrocities, often tortured prior to their deaths.

Return to Phnom Penh.

Day 9 - PHNOM PENH - SIHANUOKVILLE (B) (no tour guide) 

Breakfast Included.

Embark on a journey to Sihanouville (4 hours by car). Upon arrival, hotel check in.

The rest of the day is at your leisure to enjoy the beach.

On this tour, you'll see two of the most interesting pagodas in Sihanoukville. Wat Leu (Upper Wat) is located on the hilltop and offers a spectacular sweeping view of the entire town, its surrounding beaches and nearby islands. Marvel at the golden shrine's stone architecture, especially the three-headed white elephants with Buddha statues on top out of a stone wall. The temple houses Buddhist sculptures and contains colorful murals inside. It is an active place of worship, where food and fruits are offered during special days.

Battambang City Tour and Bat-cave Tour

We will start the tour from Battambang city to Sampov Mountain to catch the time of the day when the sun disappears and night begins. The views are fabulous from the top of Sampov Mountain. Enjoy the cool air on the mountain in the late evening and seeing the long line of bat flying from the caves.
