Day 1 - Arrival in San Jose
This afternoon you will arrive at Juan Santamaria International Airport located 20km away from San Jose City. Following customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection, a CRT Team representative will meet you as you exit the arrival terminal building and transfer you to your hotel where you will proceed for check-in. As the main entryway to the country, the Central Valley which includes San José, offers a variety of tourist, cultural and natural attractions, including Costa Rica´s best museums: the Pre-Columbian Gold, Jade, National, Costa Rican Art, La Salle Natural Science, University of Costa Rica Insect and Children´s Contemporary Art and Design Museums. In addition, this region is home to the architectural jewel of Costa Rica: the National Theatre.
Today spend your day relaxing at the hotel.

You will spend 2 nights in San Jose at the Holiday Inn Express Forum Hotel (or similar) on Breakfast Board in a Standard room.
Day 2 - San Jose
Breakfast at hotel followed by departure to Doka State Coffee Tour.
Doka Coffee Tour / Grecia & Sarchi Oxcart Factory
The Doka-Grecia and Sarchi tour is a relaxing yet very enjoyable tour. The tour begins with a wonderful drive through some of the largest coffee and sugar cane plantations (Doka) in Costa Rica. This educational and highly enjoyable coffee tour will show how these differences and variety of climatic factors determine the flavor, aroma, and quality of the final coffee cup. Doka Estate is an outstanding Coffee Hacienda with its own Coffee sun drying patios and Mill. This tour is a great learning opportunity that gives you the knowledge to become a Coffee Connoisseur with a good understanding of the Coffee Industry and Costa Rica’s Coffee leading reputation as the fines, highest quality and the most efficient producer with the highest yield per area in the world. This unique Coffee Tour will guide you in a highly enjoyable way, through all the coffee production stages, as you will have the opportunity to closely observe and understand all of the coffee industry-relevant details of how many generations of coffee artisans, have carefully selected coffee plants to produce coffee beans undergo that have unique qualities as per taste and aroma getting the proper knowledge on how Costa Rican Coffee is produced, from the plantation into a unique crafted distinctive carefully roasted cup of coffee, which is made fresh from top quality Costa Rican Highland Arabica coffee beans. You will walk through the planted fields, see our “beneficio” (coffee mill) and smell the aroma emitted by our sunbathed patios where the beans are sun-dried every morning. Then we will arrive in Grecia, and we will see the famous metal church. The church that has a rare architecture, with high ceilings, ornate stained glass windows, and classical lines. Next, we will move on to the arts & crafts factories of Sarchi recognized all over for their skilled labor and talented artistry; albeit, known primarily for the famous ox carts that are built there. And, if you are fortunate enough, you will see an ox cart that is over! Two stories are high. To that end, the behemoth ox cart is registered in the Guinness book of world records as being the largest ox cart in the world. These ox carts are ornately decorated and bursting with intense colors, such as oranges and reds, and come in various sizes, and are treasured worldwide for their unique beauty. That said, you will not want to leave Costa Rica without one. Albeit, I would not recommend you attempt to lug the two story ox cart home. To end a beautiful time spent, a delectable typical lunch will be served.
Day 3 - San Jose to Arenal
After breakfast meet with your transportation at the reception of your hotel to depart on a river rafting adventure and then continue to drop off at your hotel in Arenal, with vies of the conical shape of this massive mountain. Lunch included during the excursion and dinner on own. On your way, admire the amazing scenarios while crossing the cloud forest of the Braulio Carrillo National Park. The rafting activity can be substituted by a Chocolate Tour at Tirimbina Biological Reserve if requested in advance.
The Sarapiquí River is known as the scenic river of Costa Rica's tropical rain forest, has its origin on the Deception Depression between the Poás and Barba volcanoes and runs for 85 Km (53 Miles) to the San Juan River, the border between Costa Rica and Nicaragua. It is used for rafting through 35 Kilometers, with all the range of difficulty in three different sections. This tour leaves at a local put-in and runs 13 Km. to Chilamate, with an average gradient of 1.2%it can be run year round, and no previous experience is required safe with several accesses throughout the tour and constant communication with the base. What to bring: shorts or swimsuit, tennis shoes or rubber sole feet ware, tee-shirt, solar filter lotion, and extra clothes to change after the activity.
You will spend 2 nights in Arenal at Magic Mountain Hotel (or similar) on Breakfast Board in a Standard Room Travelling Distance approx. 198 km – Driving Time approx. 04 hours.
Day 4 - Arenal Volcano
Breakfast at the hotel and later departure of the participant, to enjoy a nature walk at the Arenal Volcano National Park.
Arenal Volcano National Park Nature Walk
A unique experience, a guided hiking tour through the rain forest, to spot monkeys, and birds, with a lot of explanations about flora, fauna and the volcano history. This soft walk will be about 1 to 2 hours, around a nature loop trail.
Return to hotel and afternoon free at leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities or taking one of the many optional tours.
Day 5 - Arenal to Monteverde
Departure time from the hotel for a ground & boat transfer/tour to Monteverde by Lake Arenal
This service, half tour – half transfer is a very scenic, fast and the newest way to travel from La Fortuna (Arenal Volcano Area) to the Monteverde area. A 30 minutes drive to the Arenal Lake Dam, to aboard a very comfortable and safe pontoon boat for 30 to 40 minutes (approximately) lake crossing to Río Chiquito, a little town at the other side of the lake. Once at Río Chiquito, you will be transferred for about 1 ½ hour drive to reach the hotel destination in the Monteverde area*
*This lake crossing transfer is subject to weather conditions in case of bad weather conditions, a ground transfer will deliver Guests to Monteverde.
It is important to consider that the check-in at the hotel is at 2:00 pm. The room will be provided at guest’s arrival time subject to availability. Afternoon at leisure.
You will spend 2 nights in Monteverde, approximate traveling distance is 108km = 67mi. estimated driving time is 4 hours.
Day 6 - Sky Walk Hanging Bridges Monteverde
Breakfast at hotel and departure to transfer to Sky Park, afternoon at leisure.
Sky Walk (Hanging Bridges)
This day you will enjoy a guided visit to Sky Adventures Park walkways where you can see and explore the forest from a different perspective. The sky is a conservation project in Monteverde, with an area of more than 1200 acres of protected land, Sky’s Canopy Walkways are the best way to enjoy peacefully and safely of the virgin cloud forest treetops. Through the bridge system and over 1.6 miles of easy walking trails, the visitors can enjoy the marvels of the cloud forest and get the chance to see some of the world’s most amazing and beautiful flora and fauna.
Day 7 - Monteverde to Carrillo Beach Area, Guanacaste Province, North Pacific Coast
Breakfast is to be offered at the hotel. After all this amazing eco-tourism experience, you deserve some relaxing time at the beach, where the sun and the ocean are ready to welcome you.
Lunch and dinner are on your own.
The evening is at leisure.
You will spend 4 nights in the North Pacific Coast at Nammbu Hotel (or similar) on breakfast board in a standard room. Traveling Distance approx. 132 km – Driving Time approx. 03 Hours 30 minutes.
Day 8-9-10 - Carrillo Beach Area
Breakfast is included at your hotel. The following days will be at leisure for you to enjoy your hotel facilities, visit Samara, Nosara, and other neighboured beaches, and take time to relax or tpo participate in the many optional activities.
Lunch and dinner are on your own.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 11 - Carrillo Beach Area to San Jose City
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel followed by shuttle transfer to San José to have a last night in town.
Lunch and dinner are on your own.
Evening is at leisure.
You will spend 1 night in Holiday Inn Forum Hotel (or similar) on Breakfast Board in a Standard Room Travelling Distance approx. 229 km – Driving Time approx. 05 Hours
Day 12 - Depart Costa Rica
Breakfast included at the hotel (flight schedule permit). According to the international flight departure time transfer from the hotel in San Jose to the International airport to take the flight back home (Approximately 3 hours prior to flight departure time).
The standard check-out time at the hotel is 12:00hrs.
Travelling distance approx. 12 km, driving time approx. 25 minutes.
