Day 1 - Arrive Yangon

Mingalabar! – And welcome to Myanmar. Your guide will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel and rest of day at leisure.

Overnight in Yangon.

Day 2 - Yangon - Mandalay City Tour  (B)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival Mandalay, you will be taken for a private Mandalay city tour.

Mandalay is the last royal capital of Myanmar and is known for its ancient cities and artisans who still practice age old traditions that are handed down through the generations. Visit local handicraft shops where you can see marble being carved into Buddhist statues, gold leaf and bronze making. Continue to Shwenandaw monastery that has swooping roof details and highly decorative lintels carved from teak, and visit a sidewalk tea shop for a spot of tea and chat. Next is Kuthodaw Pagoda that contains the largest book in the world. Row upon row of small white stupas each contains a marble slab etched with Buddhist scriptures, numbering 729 in total. Later watch the sunset from the top of Mandalay Hill.

Day 3 - Mandalay– Irrawaddy Ferry – Bagan  (B)

Today you will cruise down the mighty Irrawaddy River. Relax on the sundeck as the views slip by slowly, arriving into Bagan late in the afternoon. Snacks and drinks are available to purchase onboard.

Mandalay - Bagan Ferry boat (ETD 6.30am - ETA 5 pm).

Upon arrival Bagan, you will be transferred to the hotel. Check-in hotel & relax.

Day 4 - Bagan Sightseeing  (B)

After breakfast, our guide will take you for a Bagan City tour.

Walk around the morning market before venturing to see the best of Bagan’s distinctive temples including Shwezigon that dazzles in gold, the delicately painted ceilings of Wetkyi-in-Gubyaukgyi and Ananda, the most revered of all, with its four standing Buddha’s. Chat with the locals over a cup of tea and snacks and pop into the Thanakha Museum to learn the history behind the yellow paste made of tree bark. See how fine lacquerware is made and other crafts. Later, head to an ideal viewing site for a panoramic sunset view over the plains.

Day 5 - Bagan – Inle Lake  (B)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for the flights to Heho. Arrive Heho, you will be transferred to Inle Lake. It takes about 45 minutes by drive to reach the port town of NyaungShwe and get your first glimpses Inle Lake. Travel by long-tail boat to nearby villages and pagodas. Pass by floating gardens and see the fisherman using one leg to row their boats. The first stop is PaungDawOo noted for its five famous Buddha images which have been covered in so much gold leaf that they resemble golden balls. Then it’s on to a stilted village where traditional skills such as blacksmithing, cigar rolling and silk weaving are still done by hand. The last stop on the lake is the Jumping Cat Monastery. While the cats no longer jump there is an impressive display of Buddha images.

Day 6 - IndeinTemples – Village Walk  (B)

Today after breakfast, our guide will take you for a village walk. After tucked away on a far bank on the western shore is Indein, a small patch of crumbling stupas from the 17th century. Walk up the main stairs flanked with vendors selling postcards, puppets, and wood carvings to reach the top for the views. While some of the stupas have been rebuilt, most remain in an abandoned state with trees sprouting between the cracks. Locally known as the five-days market, this gathering is held in a different village around the lake every five days, where local ethnic groups come to trade and sell their wares - we will call into the market if coincides with our visit. Later this afternoon stretch your legs with a leisurely one hour walk to a nearby village. Meet the monks and the monastery and see the daily life unfold.

Day 7 - Heho – Yangon City Tour  (B)

Leave the lake behind and transfer to Heho airport for a morning flight to Yangon.

Arrive Yangon, you will be taken for Yangon City Tour. As cities go, Yangon would be one of the most charming in all of Southeast Asia. A mix of east meets west, where cultures collide unlike anywhere else. Hear the call to prayer from the mosques, the clang of church bells and the chant of monks as you wander the lively streets. Take a stroll through the historic quarter where the grand dames of colonial architecture with their crumbling facades cast shadows over booksellers and street markets. Have your fortune told at Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda with its large reclining Buddha and later in the afternoon head to Shwedagon Pagoda for sunset when the stupa glows bright gold in the evening light.

Day 8 - Yangon - Bangkok  (B)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Bangkok.

Upon arrival in Bangkok, you will be greeted by our representative and transfer to the hotel.

Day 9 - 10 - Bangkok  (B)

After breakfast, free time at your leisure to explore dynamic Bangkok city. 

Day 11 - Bangkok - Departure

Day 1 - Arrive Yangon

Day 2 - Yangon - Mandalay City Tour  (B)

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival Mandalay, you will be taken for a private Mandalay city tour.
