Day 1 - Overnight direct flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)
Fly direct from London Heathrow on Vietnam Airlines to Ho Chi Minh City.
Meet & greet at the airport and transfer to the EdenStar Saigon Hotel, where you will spend the next three nights with breakfast.
Officially Ho Chi Minh City, but lovingly known by locals as Saigon, is a large and fascinating city. This former capital city blends tradition with modernity - there are French colonial relics like the Notre Dam Cathedral hidden behind modern skyscrapers. The city represents the life and vitality of the Vietnamese people and visitors to this city will be gripped by its energy.
Wander down historic alleyways to incense filled temples before getting lost in one of the modern and sleek designer shopping malls. Head to the 52nd floor of the Saigon Skydeck just before sunrise, for coffee and an unrivalled panoramic view of the Sun setting on this fast moving city. Negotiate a bargain at the Ben Thanh Market where you can find just about anything. On Day 2, discover the haunting past of this great country with a Cu Chi Tunnels Tour which explains how the Vietnam American War happened, visit the underground tunnels used during the war for a greater appreciation of the ingenuity and resolve of the Vietnamese people.
Day 5, 6, 7, 8 - Hoi An
After morning breakfast in the EdenStar Saigon Hotel, you will be transferred to take a short flight to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hoi An. You will stay at the 4* Mercure Hoi An Royal. The hotel is located close to the Ancient Town and Cua Dai beach.
Filled with Old World charm and with over 2,000 years of history - Hoi An is a laid back coastal town which boasts multiple UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The heart of Hoi An is the beautiful Ancient Town. It is filled with winding lanes and Chinese influenced houses. Although much of the shops now cater to tourism, the architecture has been largely kept the same. On Day 6 in Hoi An we have arranged a morning walking tour of the Ancient City. The Ancient Town is restricted to motor vehicles and is best explored on foot.
There are literally hundreds of tailor shops in Hoi An. Other key draws to this town include the Japenese Covered Bridge. hand craft centre and local markets.
Day 9, 10 - Hue
From Hanoi, you will travel by road to the old Imperial capital of Vietnam, Hue.
You will stay at the luxury 4* Eldora Boutique Hotel in the middle of Hue.
Established as the capital city from 1802 to 1945 under the Nguyen Dynasty, Hue was home to cultural, religious and political centres in Vietnam.
Spend your time meandering down the Perfume River which cuts through the old Imperial city. Hue owes much of its charm to the Perfume River, where many of the cities attractions can be reached via boat. Hue is a tranquil city with the right balance of nightlife.

Day 11 - Hanoi
After a short flight to Hanoi, spend 1 night in the Thien Thai Hotel at your leisure.
Day 12, 13, 14 - Sapa
You will be picked up from your hotel in Hanoi and transferred to the overnight train which will take you to Sapa. Day 13 will be spent overnight in the Bamboo Spa Hotel Sapa.
Sapa provides a beautiful oasis in Vietnam, filled with lush green rice paddies and mountains. Sapa was once a French military outpost. The Gothic church located in the middle of town is a living reminder of the French influence here.
Over the three days you will embark on walking tours, meet local communities and learn about Vietnam's culture. Also, you will visit beautiful markets. You will journey on a spectacular walk through stunning scenery flanked by friendly Vietnamese communities.
Day 14 you will catch an overnight train back to Hanoi.
Day 15, 16 - Hanoi and Halong Bay Cruise
After your Sapa experience, you will return to Hanoi and spend a final two nights at the Thien Thai Hotel in the heart of the city.
The city is over 1,000 years old - the wide range of history on show here is mind boggling. There are temples, ancient fortresses, theatres, lakes and a whole host of UNESCO World Heritage Sites to visit. Everywhere you look, you will see the influence the city had under Chinese and French occupation. Part of Hanoi's allure is in its vibrant and pulsating street life, where all aspects of life are played out on the street.
The city is home to some of the finest Vietnamese coffee and street food. There is plenty for travellers to do - visit the historical mausoleum of Vietnam's founding father Ho Chi Minh, see the cities focal point the Hoan Kiem Lake, and be sure to visit the Hanoi Old Quarter on foot; where travellers can see colonial architecture along narrow streets with buddhist temples and markets with street vendors selling delicious food and souvenirs for as little as $1.
Experience the romance of Halong Bay on a traditional junkboat on Day 16. Enjoy a delicious lunch onboard before visiting the best highlights of Halong Bay including the Stone Dog, Incense Burner Islet, local fishing villages and the 'fighting cock' rock. You will visit Thien Cung, the 'Heavenly Palace', the most stunning cave in Halong Bay. Arrive back at Hanoi in the late evening.
Day 15 - Journey back to London
After your final breakfast of the trip at the Thien Thai Hotel, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
