The town of Sorrento is located in Southern Italy and overlooks the Bay of Naples and has become an extremely popular tourist destination. Sorrento has multiple must see sights, some of which include Marina Grande which is the Port of Sorrento, Marina Piccola another smaller port, the Park of Villa communal that gives an amazing view of the Gulf of Naples and the volcano Vesuvius, the Piazza Tasso, the Museum Correale which has a small archeological department, Sorrento’s main shopping street Via San Cesareo, Cathedral of Sorrento built in the 14th century, the Church of Santi Felice e Baccolo and the Monastery of St. Francesco.
Sorrento is a civilized and beautiful town with lots of old shops that sell a variety of items including ceramics and lacework all of which are produced in Sorrento itself. Even the souvenirs that can be found here are unlike anything you might find anywhere else. It has an unspoilt countryside and beautiful cliffs that overlook the water. It also has many cafés and restaurants. There are multiple transportation options to get to Sorrento including bus, train, car, boat and private transfer and once in Sorrento there are various ways you can get around Sorrento to see the sights, these include walking, local buses, taxis, lift if you are going to the top of the cliff and bike. Sorrento is a great spot for swimming as well. The best time to visit here is during the summer months of April to October.
