The city of Ajman is located to the north of Sharjah and is the smallest of the seven emirates. The sandy beaches here are pretty and lined with palms and what makes it an extremely attractive getaway is the fact that it has a very low-key vibe and value-for-money hotels. During cooler weather, the locals like to have barbecue’s and picnics along the Corniche which is one of the most popular pastimes here. If you are looking for a bit of heritage then Ajman has a museum that is situated in a fort that was built in the 18th century and was once used as a rulers residence right up until 1970. The museum houses everything from photographs, weapons, tools and archeological artefacts all of which are connected to Ajman’s past. Here is also where you will find one of the few remaining dhow-building yards located on the north side of Ajman creek.
Ajman has multiple café’s and restaurants which includes the popular breakfast spot La Croisette Café, India House serving authentic Indian vegetarian dishes, popular fast food place Sanad Winner Cafeteria, Chinese style Hai To, Arabic inspired Attibrah and British pub Outside Inn. The best time to visit Ajman is during the period of November to April which are the Summer months.
